Two months into the operations

We are excited to share the latest updates from 4Gen.bio as we embark on our journey to advance bioinformatics and computational drug design. Our focus is on two key areas: Training and Workshop, and Research Consultancy. Here's a detailed look at our initiatives and achievements in our first month of operation.

Empowering Minds with Computational Drug Design

Our mission is to empower the next generation of scientists with critical thinking skills and advanced knowledge in computational drug design. To achieve this, we are thrilled to announce our first workshop, titled "Critical Thinking in Computational Drug Design: ChEMBL and GROMACS". This event is organized in association with the Innovation Council at The Oxford College of Engineering (TOCE).

Workshop Highlights:

  • Title: Critical Thinking in Computational Drug Design: ChEMBL and GROMACS
  • Objective: To provide an in-depth understanding of the fundamentals of computational drug discovery.
  • Key Tools: ChEMBL (a chemical database of bioactive molecules) and GROMACS (a molecular dynamics simulation software).
  • Expected Outcome: Students will not only learn the techniques but will also develop the acumen to smartly pick the right targets in drug discovery.

This workshop aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, ensuring that students can apply these techniques effectively in real-world scenarios. We believe that this hands-on experience will significantly enhance their understanding and capabilities in computational drug design.

Workshop at The Oxford College of Engineering:

We successfully conducted our first workshop for B. Tech Biotechnology students, focusing on computational drug discovery tools and techniques. This experience was valuable, providing insights for improvement. One key takeaway was the importance of providing detailed documentation to help students install prerequisites, saving time during the workshop.

Research Consultancy

At 4Gen.bio, we are committed to advancing research quality by integrating cutting-edge bioinformatics techniques. We are currently in talks with OCE to augment their ongoing research projects. Our recent collaboration with their outgoing batch of Biotechnology engineering students has already demonstrated the potential impact of our guidance.

Consultancy Projects:

Enhancing Research Projects: We are working with OCE to improve the quality of their research projects using bioinformatics. This initiative aims to provide students and researchers with the tools and expertise needed to produce high-quality, impactful research.

Collaboration with Verduro:  After careful consideration and advice from Dr. Surabhi Sharma, our Honorary Advisor, we decided that it might be too early for us to engage in a consultancy contract with Veduro.ai, an AI-based hydroponics farm. This decision aligns with our current focus and capabilities.

Role Transition: From CEO to Sherpa

I have transitioned from CEO to the role of Sherpa at 4Gen.bio. This change aligns with my career goals and was made based on peer recommendations. The Sherpa role allows me to guide and support the company more flexibly, focusing on mentorship and strategic direction.

Collaborations and Future Plans

We are currently in discussions with St. Joseph's University for a series of talks. This collaboration may evolve into assisting students with their projects and conducting additional workshops. Additionally, we are looking to onboard talented individuals to handle social media, client research, and marketing. In return, I plan to provide training in bioinformatics skills to help them advance in their careers.

The Road Ahead

Our journey at 4Gen.bio has just begun, and we are excited about the future. We aspire to expand our initiatives, reach more students and researchers, and foster innovative solutions through bioinformatics and computational techniques.

By focusing on training and workshops, we aim to equip students with the necessary skills to excel in the field of drug discovery. Meanwhile, our research consultancy efforts will continue to enhance the quality of research projects, driving innovation and excellence.

We look forward to your support and engagement as we embark on this journey. Together, we can achieve bigger and better things, making a significant impact in the fields of bioinformatics and computational drug design.

Thank you for being part of our story.

Warm regards,

Parth B Sanghavi
